About AFS

``AFS (American Field Service), is an international, voluntary, non-governmental, non-profit organization that provides intercultural learning opportunities to help people develop knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world.'' ^*

... and it does it with thousands of students from and to more than 50 countries around the globe, every year. It is supported by about 100.000 volunteers, and it has been in service for more than 50 years, more than any other student exchange organization.
